KAILUABOUND FIELD GUIDE

A better trip starts with a little breathing room.

Choose a few things that matter. Let the rest of the day unfold.

Explore beyond Kailua

Choose a town day, a North Shore wander, or a west-side afternoon from Kim’s Oʻahu favorites—the list she shares with visiting friends.

Build around three decisions

  1. Your base. Decide where you’re staying and how you’ll get around.
  2. Your one main activity. Choose an ocean session, a beach day, or time exploring town.
  3. Your weather alternative. Leave a day that works even if you stay out of the water.

Pack for the day you’re taking

Bring drinking water, sun protection, a towel, dry clothes, and a bag for your belongings and rubbish. For a booked activity, follow the operator’s equipment instructions and avoid bringing valuables onto the water.

Visit with care

Keep access paths open, follow parking signs, give residents space, stay away from wildlife, and leave the beach as you found it. Choose fewer stops and allow time to move around without rushing.
