A connection that started at home

Kim Hillhouse grew up in Kailua on Oʻahu. Kailua and Lanikai beaches, Enchanted Lake, and Mount Olomana were part of the landscape of her childhood.

Her love of being outdoors carried into stand-up paddleboard and outrigger canoe racing, trail running, and mountain biking. KailuaBound began as a place for her race results and stories. That history remains here as the site grows into a guide to visiting Kailua.

A guide with an outdoor point of view

KailuaBound focuses on beach days, ocean adventures, and thoughtful trip planning. The aim is to help you choose a pace and an experience that fit you, with room to appreciate the place you came to see.
